The inspiration for the garden at Grace comes from Martin Luther’s wife, Katharina. Katie’s dynamic views were family centered, leading her to work extensively in the garden and with their livestock to feed their family, Martin’s students who often stayed with them, and friends and neighbors. Katie was focused on the physical needs of those in her community while Martin attended to the spiritual. Like Martin and Katie Luther, Grace Lutheran Church wishes to attend to the physical and spiritual wellbeing of the community it serves.
Katie’s garden is finished for this season. See you next year.
We would like to thank everyone at Grace for their support. We especially would like to thank Katie’s Crew for their hard work in planning, planting, harvesting and being there on Saturday mornings. We are looking forward to a very productive year. If you would like to help or donate, please see Pastor Al.
Blessings, Katie
